Operation Name: Headquarters of the European Institute for Excellence in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine

In November 2009, PortusPark and the Norte Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR-N) signed a funding contract for the purpose of building the “Headquarters of the European Institute for Excellence in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine”, to be located at the AvePark - Science and Technology Park.

The main goal of the operation was to consolidate the AvePark - Science and Technology Park by constructing the building that is now home to the anchor Research and Development hub and which houses an International Centre for Excellence in R&D: the European Institute for Excellence in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (IEEETMR). Thanks to this operation, the Institute was able to site its international headquarters in Portugal and, more precisely, at the AvePark facility.
